Columbiana County hasn t shaken virus just quite yet | News, Sports, Jobs

djohnson@mojonews.com LISBON Coronavirus cases have been rising somewhat in recent weeks across the state and here as well. Columbiana County has now had 8,467 cases, 475 people hospitalized and 225 deaths, according to the Ohio Department of Health. That is an increase of 89 cases over the past week with three additional deaths and hospitalizations added to the totals. The week before there were 54 new cases and the week before that 46. “It does seem like people are getting a little lax,” said Laura Fauss, public information officer with the Columbiana County General Health District. “Maybe they’re getting vaccinated, maybe they’re just excited that summer is nearly here, maybe they’re sick of it.”
