LISBON Vehicles snaked their way through the Columbiana County Fairgrounds on Friday leading to another 414 local elderly residents receiving their first doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. After one man got his vaccine, he let out a joyful cheer which echoed inside the new Columbiana County Vaccination Complex building recently constructed at the fairgrounds. Smiles could clearly be seen, even behind the masks. “This is a big day for our county,” said Hannah Sutton, the public health emergency preparedness director at the county health department. “A big day. This is what people have been waiting for for a long time.”

SRMC to offer vaccinations Jan. 28 SALEM Salem Regional Medical Center will distribute 100 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those 80 and older by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28. All recipients must register in advance; call 330-332-7511, for an appointment. Callers must provide their name, phone number and birthdate to register. There is no charge. The Moderna vaccine requires a second dose to be given approximately 28 days after the first dose. The clinic will be located on the ground floor of the hospital. People should enter the campus from East Pershing Street and park in the Surgery Center lot. Participants should then enter the building through the Surgery Center entrance and will be asked to provide a government-issued ID upon arrival. More vaccination clinics will be planned in the coming weeks.
