Hundreds of allegations of abuse at Colchester Royal Grammar School were sent to former student Scarlett Mansfield after she shared a blog post about her “traumatic” experiences there. Scarlett, 26, attended the school as a sixth former after its leading academic reputation motivated her to apply.
Allegations - Scarlett Mansfield But last month she wrote a blog post describing what she said was a “toxic male culture” at the school which sparked 200 current and former students to share their own accounts of alleged sexual abuse.
The visitation came after former student Scarlett Mansfield, 26, published a blog post about the facility having a “toxic male culture”. A spokesman for the school said: “We welcome the fact that we were visited by the Ofsted inspection team. “We worked closely with the inspectors during their time with us to help them review every aspect of life at Colchester Royal Grammar School. “Until the report is published we are unable to comment on any of the findings, but we look forward to sharing them with our community when we are able to.” So the facility is considering a number of avenues including using online forms where students can report specific incidents, as well as an anonymous reporting system to raise its awareness of issues, to a range of senior student listeners who would represent minority groups for those who might find reporting to staff more difficult.
A top grammar school investigated over a toxic male culture currently has two pupils on its roll who are accused of raping other students.
Claims against Colchester Royal Grammar School (CRGS) came to light last month, after former pupil Scarlett Mansfield shared a blog post.
But a new investigation has revealed more allegations and cases that paint a disturbing picture of life there.
They include one young girl who tried to take her own life after she said she was raped by a CRGS student. The school currently has 950 pupils.
A different girl said she too was raped and was told by other boys not to make a big deal out of it .
