Bandile Xozumti, 41, was behind the wheel when the car he was driving crashed into the Spinnaker pub in Hythe Quay, Colchester, shortly before 1am on November, 3 2019. A 40-year-old man, Stuart McClung, died as a result of the injuries he suffered during the crash. Several other people were also injured. Appearing before Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday, May 12, Xozumti admitted causing Mr McClung s death by careless driving.

Highwoods Tesco crash: Man taken to hospital after accident

Man taken to hospital after crash outside petrol station A MAN has been taken to hospital after a crash outside a petrol station. Witnesses reporting seeing an accident between vehicles at the Tesco petrol station, in Highwoods Square, Colchester, at around 12.50pm this afternoon. A number of emergency service vehicles were reportedly on the scene. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended a road traffic collision at Tesco Petrol Station on Highwoods Square in Colchester. An adult male was transported to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.” An Essex Fire Service spokesman said: Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Firefighters free trapped casualty from car after Great Holland crash

FIREFIGHTERS had to free a trapped casualty from a vehicle following a nasty crash on a village road before two people were taken to hospital. Two crews from Clacton and Frinton were called to Clacton Road, in Great Holland, at about 11.45am on Tuesday. They attended the scene after receiving reports of a crash involving two vehicles. Upon arrival they worked with paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service to help release one person from their vehicle. The casualty was eventually freed by 12:30pm. They were then left in the care of paramedics but the road remain closed by police officers for several hours with drivers being diverted.

Dearly loved sister to Cynthia, Violet and Allister. Will be greatly missed by all the family and her many friends from the social groups she belonged to, plus her numerous pen pal friends worldwide. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday 20th May, at St Lawrence Church, Rowhedge at 11.30am. The cortege will leave her home in Rowhedge at 11.10am. The committal will take place at Colchester Crematorium at 12.30pm followed by light refreshments at the Starlight Tea Chapel.
