Highlights The proposal has been sent to Cabinet for approval The policy will apply to Concor and other private container train operators New Delhi: Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday (March 10) said that the new land licensing fee (LLF) policy for the Indian Railways has been cleared by the ministry and that it will soon get the approval from Union Cabinet as well. “We had a detailed round of engagement with the private sector and also Niti Aayog before finalising the LLF. We had inter-ministerial consultation as well. Now, we have finalised the policy and got my approval too. It is going to the Cabinet soon,” Goyal said.

Concor launches container train service from Shalimar to JNPT January 18, 2021 × Container Corporation of India Ltd (Concor) has introduced a container train service from its container terminal at Shalimar, to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT, NhavaSheva). This will act as a gateway port for Eastern India. The final port of discharge of these containers is Hamad, Qatar, said a Concor press statement. To start with, a container train consisting of 90 laden containers (90 TEUs) containing ductile iron pipes manufactured by Electrosteel Castings was flagged off from Shalimar, in South Eastern Railway, on Saturday. As per a government directive, all containers were properly e-sealed (electronically sealed), containing all the important information about the containers.

The rail hauler is working on a new model possibly a slot arrangement with container carriers to service customers, sources said. The development comes at a time when the Sagarmala Development Company Ltd (SDCL) has invited expression of interest to operationalise specialised vessels on select origin-destination routes in coastal areas and inland waterways from Indian companies engaged in inland barge and river sea vessel operations.

Multi-Modal Logistic Park to be functional by 2022-23

CONCOR is setting up the facility at Kadakola The proposed Multi-Modal Logistic Park (MMLP) at Kadakola near Nanjangud is expected to become fully functional by 2022-23 and will entail an investment of ₹100 crore. Once completed it will reduce the cost of transportation and make the products more competitive besides giving thrust to industrial growth in the region. This came to the fore during an interactive session on the MMLP with trade and business organisations organised by the Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) here on Saturday. Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, who inaugurated the interactive session, said air, road and rail connectivity to the city and the region is being enhanced and will augur well for the industrial growth of the region. He said the project was almost cancelled due to land acquisition issues which were resolved due to constant interaction with farmers and government departments.
