COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FIVE (05) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Mar. 11), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 520.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 56-year-old female from Nawalapitiya. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Nawalapitiya District Hospital and transferred to Theldeniya Base Hospital, and then again to Nawalapitiya District Hospital, where she died on 08.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as pneumonia and Covid infection.
02. A 63-year-old female from Angulana. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Colombo General Hospital and transferred to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital, where she died on 09.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning shock, heart disease, and Covid infection.

The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 72-year-old female from Anuradhapura. She died on 20.02.2021 while receiving treatment at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, asthma, high blood pressure, and acute diabetes.
02. A 19-year-old female from Hemmathagama. She died on 06.03.2021 while receiving treatment at Kandy General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and a tumor.
03. A 51-year-old female from Durga Town. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to Kothalawala Defence Hospital, where she died on 08.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction.

01. A 39-year-old male from Atala. He was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus and transferred from Kegalle District Hospital to Kandy General Hospital where he died on 05.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and acute kidney damage.
02. A 67-year-old male from Colombo 08. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. Then he was transferred to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 05.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, acute diabetes, and kidney disease.

01. A 53-year-old female from Ussapitiya. She was transferred from Mawanella Hospital to Kegalle Base Hospital, where she was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus. Consequently she was transferred to Kandy General Hospital where she died on 22.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. A 78-year-old female from Giriulla. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. The she was transferred to Kothalawala Defence Hospital, where she died on 04.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction.

02. An 89-year-old female from Colombo 05. She died on 01.03.2021 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and acute diabetes.
03. A 78-year-old female from Colombo 15. She died on 02.03.2021 while receiving treatment at the Colombo General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, acute diabetes and high-blood pressure.
