A Flagstaff woman was arrested on suspicion of killing a man after she turned herself in at a Walmart early Thursday morning, police say.
Around 2 a.m., the Flagstaff Police Department received a call from the Walmart near Woodlands Village and Beulah boulevards. According to Sgt. Odis Brockman, a department spokesman, 36-year-old Ashley Martin had entered the store and asked employees to call the police.
When police arrived, Martin told officers she shot someone before leading police to a nearby trail where the she left the body of 41-year-old Travis Nelson.
Martin told police that she and Nelson had been in a fight that ended with Martin fatally shooting Nelson, Brockman said.
