3 arrested, deputies hospitalized for possible fentanyl exposure after Flagstaff pursuit

FLAGSTAFF, AZ â Three people were arrested after leading authorities on a car chase Monday that resulted in two Coconino County sheriff deputies being exposed to possible fentanyl that was found inside the trio s vehicle.
Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop for a vehicle that was heading north on Hutton Ranch Road from Townsend Winona Road, according to the Coconino County Sheriff s Office.
The vehicle, which authorities said was known to be connected to a felony warrant, did not stop, triggering a car chase in the area of Coconino National Forest.

Dan Musselman Named Flagstaff Police Chief
Dan Musselman is been named the new Flagstaff Police Chief. Musselman has worked in law enforcement for over 30 years, most recently Flagstaff’s Interim Police Chief since June 2020. Musselman joined the Flagstaff Police Department in November 1995 and has worked as one of the city’s Deputy Police Chiefs since 2012. Prior to working for the city of Flagstaff, Musselman worked for the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and served in the United States Army Reserve. He was named chief from a pool that attracted 35 candidates.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A veteran law enforcement officer has been named as police chief in Flagstaff, the city announced Monday.
Dan Musselman already had been serving as interim chief of the Flagstaff Police Department before he was selected for the post. He beat out 35 other candidates to succeed Kevin Treadway, who retired earlier this year.
Musselman joined the Flagstaff Police Department in 1995 and has been a deputy police chief since 2012. Before that, he worked for the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
