Prineville Man Electrocuted
A 26-year-old Prineville man died after he was electrocuted at an RV park Tuesday afternoon. Medics pronounced Kyle Johnson dead at the scene. According to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson had been using a homemade power supply box to burn decorative designs into wood.
“The power supply box was connected to a power outlet in the trailer via an extension cord and was in the process of burning some wood when for unknown reasons was electrocuted. It appears that no Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) electrical plug or breaker had been tripped,” the news release stated.

Crook County Investigates Suspicious Cattle Deaths
Over the last week, the Crook County Sheriff’s Office has investigated multiple suspicious cattle deaths in the eastern and southern portions of Crook County. This area is very rural ranch land as well as public BLM land.
“The cause of these cattle deaths were not natural and are under investigation.” according to CCSO. “The Sheriff’s Office
would like to encourage our stockgrowers to be vigilant in checking on their animals and to report any suspicious activity to us. The Sheriff’s Office will be providing extra patrols to the rural portions of the county in an attempt to locate who is responsible.
