Barn Here exhibiting Wyoming s unique style of barns at Fort Caspar Museum

A “Barn Here” photo exhibit featuring unique Wyoming barns will be on display at Fort Caspar Museum from April 15 through June 27. “Barn Here” is a traveling exhibit arranged by the Wyoming State Museum. Fort Caspar said on Tuesday that visitors will get to learn about how Wyoming barns are different from those built in other parts of the country. “Wyoming barns differ greatly in style and function from barns in many other parts of the United States,” the museum said. “Climate, available building materials, ethnic traditions, and many other factors influence how they are constructed. Beautiful black-and-white photographs from the State Historic Preservation Office depict barns from throughout Wyoming.”

(Wyoming News Now) - At Tuesday’s Casper City Council session, Parks and Recreation Director Tim Cortez went before the council to present about the potential for seasonal closures at the Fort Caspar Museum. “A lot of it’s just getting in front of council to try to educate them,” said Cortez in an interview on Thursday afternoon at Fort Caspar Museum. “So that they can make a decision for the people that’s in the best interest of the community, so that’s what we were discussing on Tuesday was some of the fine details if it were of what a facility of this nature brings to the community and the trade off of tax dollars.”

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Fort Caspar Museum has two new exhibits for visitors to check out. The exhibits offer visitors a great chance to learn some of the history of Wyoming and Casper. The “Wyoming Navy” exhibit highlights U.S. Naval ships named after people and places in Wyoming. It will available to visit at the museum through April 2021. “A, B, C’s of Casper History” offers a look at items that make Casper unique from the museum’s own collection. It will be on display through November 2021.
