Spirit will keep flying to its home base in Fort Lauderdale and will now fly to five destinations in Florida from North Texas.

Ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines will add flights from DFW International Airport to Miami this fall, adding more competition from North Texas to the Sunshine State.
Spirit announced Tuesday that it would fly to Miami International Airport and named DFW as one of the 30 initial routes. Spirit, which is based in nearby Fort Lauderdale, is now scheduled to have 18 nonstop routes from DFW International Airport this fall.
