Tinslee was born with a rare heart condition and the hospital said it has undertaken extreme efforts to keep her alive. She breathes with the assistance of a ventilator and is sedated but conscious.
In multiple court proceedings, doctors testified that Tinslee has no chance of recovery and that each day is torturous for her, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Although this case has never been about money and Cook Children s has never considered finances when making an end-of-life decision, the State of Texas (through its manager of a Medicaid care program) is now threatening to interject the issue into this dispute, according to the appeal filing.
A North Texas hospital is asking a state appeals court to take steps to overturn a ruling that forced it to continue providing life-sustaining treatment for a toddler who doctors say is in pain and will never recover.

When police first questioned 51-year-old Lara Lynn Ford about why she stole nearly $1.4 million from Ed Youngâs Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, the congregationâs former business managerâs initial response was âUmm stupid.â
She was smart enough, however, to avoid being caught stealing from the church for more than a decade to support a bad spending habit which she sometimes indulged to âhelp people,â according to an April 2019 Grapevine Police Department report and court records reviewed by The Christian Post.
âWhen [Officer] Villalobos asked Ford why she committed the theft, Ford replied, âUmm stupid,â and then elaborated that she has a spending problem. Ford then admitted she didnât have the money in an account, and she would buy things she doesnât need and would help people,â Officer T. Karfs wrote.
