Lawmakers expressed disgust at hard proof presented in an independent review of Fort Hood, Texas, that found that leaders there allowed a festering culture of sexual harassment and assault, one that forced victims to live in survival mode.

On Aug. 19, 2019, Army Private Gregory Scott Wedel-Morales went missing from Fort Hood, Texas.
Kim Wedel, his mother, said the Army quickly marked her son as AWOL, then added him to the list of deserters. He wasn t important to them, Wedel said. There was nothing where they cared or looked.
