Sikhs in Pakistan panicky after being asked to give personal details

Highlights An audio message alerting the Sikhs has surfaced New Delhi: Sikhs in Pakistan are panicky after they were told to furnish details of their residence, contact number and other information to the local police in order to make security arrangements for them. Zee Media accessed an audio message which reveals that the Sikhs of Lahore and Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sikh’s first master Guru Nanak Dev were asked to submit their credentials with Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).   Confirming the same, Ranjit Singh, Granthi of Gurdwara Guru Ramdas Ji, Chuna Mani, Lahore sent out a voice message alerting the Sikhs to remain vigilant and not stay out of their homes late at night.

Highlights The diaspora accused Pakistan of trying to create a wedge between Pakistani and European Sikhs ISLAMABAD: Sikh diaspora has condemned Pakistan’s machination of defaming the Sikh community and trying to create a wedge between Pakistani and European Sikhs by projecting a Muslim man in the guise of a Sikh and inciting them to give a befitting reply to French people for allegedly publishing a caricature of Prophet Muhammad.   In a video message uploaded on social media, a sky blue turban-wearing person supporting a beard introduces himself as ‘Sardar Ji while greeting both Aslamu alaikum and Sasriakar. The Sikh look-alike person who is identified as Sardar Qasam Dogar Singh in Pakistan raises a slogan of “Gustakh e rasool ki eik hi saza , sar dar say juda (only punishment for blasphemy of Prophet is separating the head from the body).

National February 22, 2021 NANKANA SAHIB: The Sikh community on Sunday organised a ceremony in connection with Saka Nankana Sahib at the Gurdwara Janamasthan here. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Anti-Narcotics Ijaz Shah said that the minorities had complete religious freedom in the country and they could enjoy their religious festivities and festivals. He said that the Baba Guru Nanak International University would be completed soon. He said that everybody should learn the history of his religion. He said that the Sikh community was a peaceful and disciplined nation. He condemned the Indian government for now allowing the Indian Sikhs to visit Pakistan to participate in the festivities of 100th anniversary of Saka Nankana.
