Oklahoma COVID Vaccination Portal Now Open (Oklahoma State Department of Health) has launched their new COVID-19 vaccination portal. It will be used as a scheduling tool to help Oklahomans determine when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and help them schedule an appointment when it is their turn. This will be the fastest and easiest way to get in line, request a vaccination and stay up to date with the various rollout phases.   At this time only first responders, healthcare professionals, those with increased exposure risk due to their job, high risk persons with compromised immune systems and those who are 65 years of age or older are eligible to receive the vaccine. If you re currently eligible and meet the above criteria visit www.vaccinate.oklahoma.gov to sign up and schedule an appointment and notifications.

(TNN) - The Comanche County Health Department is partnering with leaders in the community to set up Coronavirus Vaccination Walk-in Clinics. On Wednesday First Baptist Church in West Lawton was used as a COVID-19 vaccination site. Vaccines were given out to First Responders, healthcare workers, and Funeral Home Employees who haven’t got their first shot yet. On Thursday December 31 they will be setting up at Douglass Learning Center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

(TNN) - Six members of the Lawton Fire Department received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine Monday at the Comanche County Health Department. Deputy Fire Chief Jared Williams said LFD personnel are not required to take the vaccine, but they’re encouraging as many as possible to get it. “Lawton Fire Department being that dual role of an EMS provider, as well as firefighters, we’re able to with our national registry E-M-T certification be considered frontline E-M-S workers,” he said.
