LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - A woman was arrested in Lawton after allegedly throwing a machete towards a Lawton police officer, missing him by mere feet.
According to the affidavit, police responded to a Lawton neighborhood where Gina Jenkins was reportedly found banging on an apartment door with a machete in her hand.

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - On Tuesday, Comanche County residents will be voting on the Safety Tax Extension.
The previous resolution was approved in 2014 and directed two-thirds, or roughly 66%, of money from sales taxes towards improvements and operational costs at the Comanche County jail.
If the new resolution is approved, if would increase that amount to 80%, which is an additional 14% from the previous resolution.
The remaining 20% of the sales tax money would be split between five entities, like the previous resolution. Those entities include Volunteer Fire Departments, the Fairgrounds, the Sheriff’s Department, Capital Improvement Continency Fund, and the Comanche County Industrial Authority.
Bond was set at $1 million dollars for a Lawton man arrested Tuesday for a local warrant but considered a âperson of interestâ in a recent murder of a Chickasha woman and her unborn daughter.
Kenneth Lee Johnson made his initial appearance Wednesday in Comanche County District Court where he was charged with a felony count of being a felon in possession of a weapon, records indicate. The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Johnson was arrested by U.S. Marshals Tuesday afternoon in the area of Southwest 17th Street and McKinley Avenue after he was pulled over for a traffic stop. Investigators learned that he had an active Comanche County warrant issued Dec. 11 for possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.
