Court orders to attach movable properties at Collectorate complex Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The Second Additional Subordinate Judge here on Wednesday ordered to attach a list of movable properties from four offices at the Coimbatore Collectorate complex after the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) failed to pay ₹ 67.87 lakh to a 90-year-old woman as compensation for her land acquired in 1983. The court issued order to attach movable properties from the offices of Coimbatore District Collector, District Treasury, District Revenue Officer and Revenue Divisional Officer, all situated within the Collectorate complex, on a plea filed by V. Saraswathiammal from Avarampalayam. According to Ms. Saraswathiammal’s counsels R. Varadaraj and A. Subramaniam, TNHB acquired the land belonging to the woman in 1983. The government had fixed ₹ 200 per cent as compensation.

Sathyamoorthy 150 war veterans to be felicitated in Coimbatore on March 10 The ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ torch reached the Shrinagesh Barracks at the Wellington Military Station on Monday. The year-long Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations started from December 20, 2020 to commemorate the victory of the Armed forces in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The torch was received by Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh, Commandant of the Madras Regimental Centre and Station Commander, Wellington Military Station. He was joined by veterans from the 1971 war led by former Vice-Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General S. Pattabhiraman, the senior-most veteran at the occasion.

Final electoral roll for districts released Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The final electoral roll (photo electoral roll) released on Wednesday has listed 30,62,744 voters in the 10 Assembly constituencies in Coimbatore district. M. Karunakaran, Director of Handlooms and Textiles and Electoral Roll Observer for Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, the Nilgiris districts, released the final roll in the presence of Coimbatore District Collector K. Rajamani and senior officials. As per the final electoral roll, there are 15,09,531 male voters, 15,52,799 female voters and 414 voters in the other gender category in Coimbatore district. Of the total voters who have found places in the final electoral roll, 37,667 voters are aged 18 and 19.
