A 31-year-old man will be sentenced in October after pleading guilty to 12 charges related to the horrific treatment of kittens in 2019.
Crown attorney Alexandre Simard asked the court Thursday to consider a sentence of at least 18 months in prison for Corey Dennison, as well as three years of probation, and a lifetime ban on caring for animals.

“Animals are living creatures, not property, in this era we’re having companions and comfort with those animals. They’re not property on farms, especially cats… The Crown’s position is 18 months at the lowest… 20 months would be appropriate,” said Simard.

A 31-year-old man who pleaded guilty to charges relating to the torture of 16 kittens will soon be sentenced.
Corey Dennison was originally charged with 60 offences relating to the acts he was accused of perpetrated on the animals, and pleaded guilty last January to one count each of killing or wounding an animal, not providing adequate care to an animal, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace, as well as nine counts of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

The local music community, stuck at home for the past year, is finally getting out to fire up their amps now that restrictions are loosening up a bit here in the Northwest Indiana area.
Giovanni Taliaferro, Director of Memorabilia Design for Hard Rock International, uncrated the âGuitar the Changed the Worldâ on Thursday. The guitar will be displayed inside the casino as part of the music memorabilia collection.
Several bands realize musicians are not the only ones who have been affected by and suffered from the extended COVID-induced shut down. Seven heavy and hard rock groups are taking the opportunity this Saturday to step up and help one of the key venues in Northwest Indiana that has been home to some of the Region s heavier bands for the last couple of years.
