Howard Payne University issued the following press release Thursday afternoon: Howard Payne University associate director of athletics Troy Drummond is taking on an expanded role after transitioning from basketball responsibilities. After 13 seasons as the head men’s basketball coach at Howard Payne, Drummond will now concentrate on duties as associate director of athletics and men’s and women’s golf coach. Drummond will work closely with the City of Brownwood as HPU expands its partnership regarding the Brownwood Coliseum. “Coach Drummond has served in a multifunctional role as head basketball and head men’s and women’s golf coach, along with his associate athletic director roles,” said Hunter Sims, director of athletics. “The expanded partnership with the Brownwood Coliseum provided the perfect opportunity for our athletic department to provide an even better experience for our students.”
