Taran Killam To Star In Comedy Show Welcome To Georgia
Actor Taran Killam, best known for his work on Single Parents and Saturday Night Live , has been tapped as the male lead in CBS comedy pilot Welcome to Georgia . New Girl alum Hannah Simone is attached as the female lead.
FOLLOW US ON: Los Angeles: Actor Taran Killam, best known for his work on “Single Parents” and “Saturday Night Live”, has been tapped as the male lead in CBS comedy pilot “Welcome to Georgia”. “New Girl” alum Hannah Simone is attached as the female lead. The show will explore what happens when Penelope’s (Simone) career takes off at exactly the same time as her husband Josh’s (Killam), who is an airline pilot, they call on Penelope’s young single mom, Georgia, to help raise their son, but what they find is Georgia needs more raising than their kid. “Bedazzled” star Elizabeth Hurley will play Georgia on the show.

The comedy explores what happens when Penelope s (
New Girl s Hannah Simone) career takes off at exactly the same time as her husband s, they call on Penelope s young single mom, Georgia, to help raise their son, but what they find is Georgia needs more raising than their kid.
Killam will play Josh, Penelope s husband and father to their toddler son and an airline pilot who loves his job. Josh is more tolerant of Penelope s mother, Georgia (Elizabeth Hurley), and tends to cut her more slack.
Corinne Kingsbury, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are writing the script for the pilot, which was first picked up a year ago and rolled to this season after pandemic-related delays. Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Wendi Trilling exec produce alongside pilot director Pamela Fryman. The multicamera comedy is produced in-house at CBS Studios.
