NEW YORK, May 27, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Chubb announced today that its innovative Chubb Rule of Law Fund, supported by 15 law firms and the Chubb Charitable Foundation, has awarded four new grants, totaling $1.1 million, to projects that promote equity and advance racial justice.
Since it was established in 2008, the Chubb Rule of Law Fund has made 66 grants to support projects around the world that promote the preservation and advancement of the rule of law. The projects range from supporting the development of rules-based legal systems, independent and knowledgeable judiciaries and anti-corruption measures to improving administrative procedures and access to legal services.

On Wednesday, Judge Diane Gujarati of the Eastern District of New York sided with 3M Company in a suit against CovCare Inc. and its corporate affiliate Wooter Apparel Inc. The court’s order bars the defendants from selling 3M-branded N95 masks, using 3M’s associated trademarks, and falsely representing themselves as 3M product distributors. The Brooklyn, New York, court’s decision comes after 3M sought and was granted a temporary restraining order last month.
Judge Gujarati explained that 3M is a leading manufacturer of N95 masks in the United States. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for the masks and visibility of the brand have grown considerably, the opinion noted.

6 hours ago On Monday, Judge Troy Nunley of the Eastern District of California denied a preliminary injunction to the plaintiffs in a fraud case against OsteoStrong Franchising LLC and two company executives.
OsteoStrong is a seller of franchises for bone density improvement centers, which use equipment purported to increase bone density and prevent osteoporosis and other medical conditions, such as diabetes, according to the defendants. The plaintiffs, John P. Baird, Bret Kurihara, OS New Mexico LLC, BNS RD LLC, Sean Simpson, Charla Simpson, Mary Jo McHenry, and K&L Wellness LLC, all are small business owners and franchisees of OsteoStrong centers across the nation.
