Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Robert Apodolla has passed on.
Mr Apodolla who was the Deputy Clerk in charge of the Legislative Management Division passed on Friday evening, February 19, 2021.
He died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he was on admission for an undisclosed ailment and was reportedly recovering.
Some staff of the Parliamentary Service described him as one of the Institution s fine memory, a boss of repute, compassionate with a listening ear and a helping hand.
He was devoted to the work of Parliament and has served in many capacities including Committees, Standing Orders Review, Strategic Plan Development and Anchor/Coordinating Officer for the State-Of-The-Nation Address and Budget Presentation in Parliament.

In the past, high blood pressure was always related to old age but these days, more and more young people are showing up at health facilities with complications of high blood pressure such as kidney failure, stroke, and hypertension.
This week, on the Vodafone Healthline, a programme which seeks to educate people on health related issues, a Doctor at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), Dr Josephine Akpalu, said this was as a result of the level of fats that young people were constantly building in their bodies.
“We put on weight due to our genes, and other minor reasons such as medication but the major reason why people put on weight is because of an imbalance between what they are eating and their output.
The Rawlings family called on President Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday, 18 February 2021, to thank him and the government for giving the late President Jerry John Rawlings a “befitting” burial. The President wrote on his Facebook page: “On Thursday, 18 February 2021, the family of the late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of the nation s presidency, to thank the government for the befitting burial accorded the first President of the fourth Republic on 27 January 2021.”
Mr Rawlings died in the morning of Thursday, 12 November 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. Mr Rawlings had buried his mother, Victoria Agbotui, who was 101 years old, a month earlier.
Man remanded for punching lover’s eye over chop money

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded into police custody, a 38-year-old man, for punching the right eye of his lover over GHC2.00.
Samuel Sackey, is said to have punched Mavis Ashley, after she had pleaded with him (Sackey) to add GHc2.00 to the daily upkeep money of GHc10.00 (chop money) for her and their son.
The police said soon after the blow, blood started oozing from the victim’s eye, and she was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for surgery.
The Court was told that the victim could no longer see with that eye.
