Man charged with felonious assault following shooting

COSHOCTON - Isaac M. Beichler, 21, of Coshocton has been charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in connection to a shooting Wednesday evening.
According to the Coshocton County Sheriff s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after 7:30 p.m. to Coshocton Regional Medical Center for a man who had been admitted with a gunshot wound. It was determined the shooting occurred in the 900 block of Chestnut Street and the victim was transferred to a trauma center in Columbus for treatment. His condition was unknown Thursday morning.
Detectives processed the crime scene and spoke with witnesses. It was learned that the suspect fled on foot towards the Red Sea area. K-9 officers from the sheriff s office and the West Lafayette Police Department were used to canvas the area. Beichler was found in a few hours and taken into custody without incident, authorities stated.

Vigil held to honor Brianna Ratliff
Several hundred people came out to honor 20-year-old found dead in a vacant house on Sunday
COSHOCTON - Several hundred people attended a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening at Hall Park to remember Brianna Ratliff.
The 20-year-old graduate of Coshocton High School went missing on April 15. Her body was found April 18 in a vacant house near the park by a search team.
Blake Grewell, 19, of Coshocton was formally charged with murder, an unclassified felony, in the incident on Tuesday. Authorities said Grewell was a former friend of the victim. Further charges are pending review of the case by the Coshocton County Prosecutor s Office.
