The latest deceased patients were all Cambodians - two women, aged 76 and 67, and one man aged 61, the statement said, adding that they all succumbed to the disease at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in capital Phnom Penh.
The country also logged 388 new cases, pushing the national case tally to 13,790, the statement said, adding that the new infections included one imported case and 387 local cases.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is continuing to climb in Cambodia, claiming the life of a storied filmmaker who became a senior minister after the capital was locked down in the latest dramatic moves to curb the spread of the contagion.
Government-friendly media reported that Mao Ayuth, secretary of state for the Information Ministry, had died of Covid-19 at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital on April 15 evening.

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Mao Ayuth, a veteran filmmaker turned secretary of state at the Ministry of Information, has passed away while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh on Thursday (April 15), according to ministry spokesman Phos Sovann. He was 77 years old. I m not sure about the cause of his death. He passed away at nearly 7 o clock while receiving treatment for Covid-19, Sovann said.
Ayuth, a resident of Boeung Raing commune in Phnom Penh s Daun Penh district, was admitted to the hospital on April 5 after testing positive for Covid-19.

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA
Renowned filmmaker Mao Ayuth was one of the two deaths reported by the Health Ministry on Friday, as Phnom Penh and Takhmau city entered the second day of a two-week lockdown.
Mao Ayuth, who was the producer of “Sdech Kan,” was hospitalized at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital on April 5 for COVID-19, severe exhaustion and diabetes. The veteran filmmaker was also a secretary of state at the Information Ministry.
