Engineer probing Surfside collapse pissed off he isn t getting access he needs
SURFSIDE, Fla. – A very frustrated forensic engineer is sitting in a makeshift office inside Surfside Town Hall analyzing plans Wednesday night.
At the end of this week, Allyn Kilsheimer says he’s leaving without all the information he needs to get to the bottom of what happened at the Champlain Towers South in the early hours of June 24.
Miami-Dade County police call the site and the debris a crime scene, and they are protecting evidence.

SURFSIDE, Fla. The death toll in the collapse of a Miami-area condominium rose to 90 from 86, as crews continued their grim search for human remains in the building s wreckage, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said on Sunday, July 11.
Another 31 people were still potentially unaccounted for, Levine Cava said at a briefing.
While many are feared dead in the concrete and steel rubble of the 12-story oceanfront building in Surfside that partially collapsed in the early morning hours of June 24, some of the missing have been discovered through detective work, she said.
