One arrested in Galion drug bust

GALION A man was arrested and is now facing drug charges following the raid of a Galion residence on Wednesday morning.
Chief Marc Rodriguez of the Galion Police Department said officers from his department and other county law enforcement agents executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence located at 829 Harding Way East. Authorities arrested Daris Thompson, age 55, Galion, during the raid. Officers seized suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash (less than $100).
The chief said the following charges have been recommended against Thompson: drug trafficking, possession of drugs, and permitting drug abuse. The case has been referred to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for review, Rodriguez said.

On July 14, 2021 at 6:32 AM The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and METRICH Drug Task Force executed a narcotic search warrant at 476 Fifth Ave. Galion, Ohio. The Sheriff’s Office utilized the Crawford County Special Response Team which consists of the Sheriff’s Office, Bucyrus, Galion, Crestline and New Washington Police Departments along with Galion and Bucyrus Fire Departments. This Search warrant was a result of 3-month long investigation, into drug activity at this residence.
Arrested in the search warrant was Shawn Kouns, age 49 and Teresa Howard, age 47 who were the targets of the investigation.

According to a press release issued by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, members of the county’s Special Response Team (SRT) and agents from the METRICH Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 6:32 a.m. at a residence located at 476 Fifth Avenue in Galion. The early morning raid marked the culmination of a 3-month long investigation into alleged drug activity at the residence, according to law enforcement officials.
