Morton takeover bid is edging closer to a deal THE fans investment group bidding to take over at Morton is edging closer to a final deal with the club s current owners. Morton Club Together has been locked in talks with Golden Casket following a consultation with supporters on two options tabled by the company. One involved Cappielow changing hands but with a £2m debt pile attached, and the other saw that sum written off and the Rae family firm keeping the stadium and renting it out. Many pledgers among MCT s 600-strong membership raised concerns about aspects of both options. A spokesperson said: Following further discussions, we are now in a position where a new deal is on the table that we believe will answer much of the feedback and concerns raised by members during the consultation.
