Cirencester and Moreton in Marsh GP-led vaccination services are contacting over 65s to invite them for the Covid-19 vaccine. Residents and staff in the top four priority groups in Gloucestershire have now been offered a vaccination and over 160,000 people have received their first dose. This includes people aged 70 and over, people in care homes, the clinically extremely vulnerable and frontline health and care workers. The next priority group currently being invited to vaccinate includes over 65s and 16-64 year-olds with underlying health conditions. “What has been achieved across Gloucestershire is truly extraordinary,” said Dr Andy Seymour, clinical chair of NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group.

Police knew several young people were being sexually abused but did not share key information, a report has found.
It added the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership (GSCP) must overhaul the way it protects vulnerable teenagers following three serious cases of exploitation.
The GSCP said it will implement all the report s recommendations.
The report, commissioned by the GSCP and led by independent consultant Mark Power, said victims felt let down by the system after help earlier in their lives was ineffective.

A new website has been set up to offer support to parent carers in North Somerset.
North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together (NSPCWT) represents parents who care for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities to key decision makers in health and education.
The parent carer forum s aim is to make everyday life better for families and to help children and young people with additional needs and disabilities reach their full potential.
Through the forum, parent carers can access a network of support, ask questions and raise issues with people who understand the challenges they face and are able to represent their concerns to policy makers and service providers.
