Hyderabad, Feb 1 : The health sector on Monday hailed the Union Budget 2021-22 for increased allocation to the sector and new schemes.
Some leading private healthcare providers here welcomed the announcements made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to give a push to the health sector post-pandemic. Budget 2021-22 presented under unprecedented circumstances surely has many firsts. I welcome the Budget and the allocations made to the health sector. Finance Minister s announcement to spend more on primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare over the next six years is much appreciated, Mervin Leo, Cluster COO, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, told IANS.

Hyderabad: Seven Covid patients have undergone liver transplants in the city. In total, 30 patients have gone through liver transplant operations at a Hyderabad-based hospital between May-December.
Out of the 30 patients, seven were Covid positive, while in two cases, both the donor and the beneficiary were found positive for Covid. 48 patients required to undergo liver transplants during and after Covid lockdown, say hospital authorities.

HYDERABAD: In the wake of the national crisis that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused, healthcare professionals have urged Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to encourage private investment in the healthcare sector by offering tax incentives in her forthcoming Union Budget.
Though the government has indicated that it would increase healthcare spend to three per cent of the economy, Dr Riyaz M Khan, CEO, Continental Hospitals, feels a major portion of it should be spent on primary healthcare.

Hyderabad, Jan : A total of 30 patients, including seven who had tested positive for Covid-19, underwent liver transplants successfully at the Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Lakdikapul here since the lockdown was relaxed in May last year.
According to doctors, in two instances, both the donor and the recipient were found positive for coronavirus.
During the Covid-19 lockdown and the subsequent months, a total of 48 patients were in need to undergo liver transplant on an early basis. Out of them, 23 patients were under regular medical supervision. They didn t contract Covid-19 infection and underwent successful liver transplants. Seven patients who had tested positive for Covid also successfully underwent liver transplant and survived.
