The St. Paul Saints announced the Twins have signed JT Riddle to a minor-league deal, with an invitation to major league camp.
Riddle, 29, played last season with the Pirates, hitting .149 in 67 at bats. He had one home run.
An infielder/outfielder, he has played mostly at shortstop. In 246 major league games, he has a .222 batting average with 19 home runs in 787 plate appearances.
After playing college baseball at Kentucky, Riddle was a 13
th round pick by Miami in 2013. He played 70 games for the Marlins in 2017, hitting .250 with three home runs, then spent most of 2018 with Miami, hitting .231 with nine home runs in 102 games. His 2019 season was hampered by injury; he hit .189 in 51 games.

All eight have previous Major League experience, and three were part of the Twins organization last season.
Minnesota did have to dig into a considerable amount of its pitching depth last season due to a rash of injuries around the roster. The Twins shuffled several pitchers between the alternate training site and Major League roster, including Coulombe and Minaya, who have extensive experience with the A s and White Sox, respectively, and were both invited back to the club.

The Twins have signed eight players to minor league pacts with invites to Major League Spring Training, according to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. In addition to their previouslyreported deals with righty Derek Law and second baseman Tzu-Wei Lin, the Twins have re-signed left-hander Danny Coulombe, righty Juan Minaya and catcher Tomas Telis. They’ve also brought infielder/outfielder Rob Refsnyder and right-handers Glenn Sparkman and Luke Farrell into the fold.
Coulombe, 31, tossed 2 2/3 shutout innings with the Twins in 2020 but spent most of the year at their alternate training site in St. Paul. The former A’s and Dodgers lefty has a career 4.19 ERA and 4.10 FIP in 146 innings out of a big league bullpen. He’s averaged about 8.5 K/9 in that time, but Coulombe’s strikeout numbers exploded at the Triple-A level in 2019, when he punched
