ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A guilty plea is entered over a crash that killed a Freeborn County teen.
Dominik Nikko Boots-Ringeon, 19 of Albert Lea, was charged with criminal vehicular homicide, criminal vehicular operation, underage drinking and driving, and driving without a license after the crash on August 27.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office says Boots-Ringeon was driving south on 795th Avenue by the Glenville pool when he went off the road and hit a tree. Authorities say the crash killed James Joseph Amarosa III, 17 of Albert Lea, and seriously injured Cameron Michael Cunningham, 15 of Twin Lakes.

Colonie police arrested 26-year-old Khalil Hankins of Schenectady Monday for allegedly stealing a truck full of tools from a Latham parking lot last month.
Police around the region are familiar with him. He s been involved in assaults, burglaries, robberies, pursuits in a vehicle, stolen credit cards, stolen identities, you name it, seems like he s involved in it, said Colonie Police Lieutenant Daniel Belles.
Since January, Hankins has been arrested in places including East Greenbush, Schenectady, Wilton, Saratoga, Glenville, Malta, Scotia, and Menands nine times in Colonie this year alone. This particular defendant, he s been arrested sometimes multiple times in the same day by different agencies, so it s pretty clear that when he gets arrested, he s not really held accountable, said Lieutenant Belles.

GLENVILLE – After about 100 tractor-trailer strikes and turnarounds in the Canadian Pacific Railroad bridge’s existence on Glenridge Road, local officials are calling for the state and the rail company to take action in the wake of this week’s latest accident.
Town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle and the local legislative delegation said they want the state to close the underpass to truck traffic and raise the 10-foot, 11-inch bridge to a height that would be safer, as determined by traffic engineers.
All of the roads involved are owned by the state and county and would require state Department of Transportation involvement to coordinate and execute a solution, officials said.
