A gas leak caused huge traffic backups in Victoria into Saanich Wednesday afternoon. Northbound lanes of Douglas Street were closed.
Saanich Fire department was called to the 3300-block of Douglas, which they closed to all traffic from Cloverdale Ave. to Audley St.
Businesses in the area were evacuated and closed for the rest of the day.
Douglas St. opened after 6pm.
Saanich emergency crews are responding to a gas leak at the intersection of Cloverdale Avenue and Douglas Street. Traffic is impacted and backed up in the area. #yyjtraffic@saanichnewspic.twitter.com/XDX147aygq
