AN EXTINCTION REBELLION activist accused of trespassing and graffiti at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is to spend Christmas in prison after refusing to stay away from the university.
Ronan Browne, 30, co-founder of activism groups Systems Change and Economists Rebellion, was before Dublin District Court today.
He has accused TCD of not tackling climate change. Browne, with addresses at Main Street, Headford, Co. Galway and at Tyrconnell Road in Inchicor
Louth man Gerard Cruise charged with murder of child in January

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a child earlier this year.
There was tight security as Gerard Cruise, 47, was before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court where he was accused of the murder of the 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified.

Det Sgt Peter Cooney of Drogheda Garda Station gave evidence of arrest and caution against the accused early this morning.
He said he arrested Cruise, of Rathmullan Park, Drogheda, Co Louth, at the station at 12.18am.

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a male earlier this year.
Gerard Cruise, Rathmullan Park, Drogheda, Co Louth, appeared before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court on Sunday afternoon.
The court was told the 47-year-old accused man was arrested at 12.18am on Sunday and charged at 12.50am. When the charge was put to him by Det Sgt Peter Cooney the accused made no reply, Judge Éirinn McKiernan was told.
