Stolen pickup truck part of hit and run incident

A stolen pickup truck was implicated as part of a hit and run that occurred at 5:40 p.m. on Monday, May 10, at 2110 W. Crawford St.
Witnesses identified a male with long hair as the driver of a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with an unknown passenger. The truck pulled into a parking stall and struck a 2015 Ford F-150 on the driver s side that had backed into its own stall. The first vehicle then left the parking lot, but not before witnesses were able to obtain the plate information.
Salina police went to 200 S. Santa Fe Ave. and met with the owner of the 2001 Dodge pickup, Charles Carroll, an 81-year-old male from Salina.

Work recently began on the construction of a new generation three Kwik Star right by the South Sixth Street location in Marshalltown. On Thursday, workers moved dirt around to get the land ready for the new structure, which will be much bigger.
A new, larger Kwik Star station is coming to South Sixth Street.
The convenience store and gas station chain has marked the 814 S. Sixth Street location, or Kwik Star No. 607, for a rebuild. It is one of three Kwik Star stores in Marshalltown.
The city’s April Building Permit Report shows Kwik Trip Inc., owners of Kwik Star convenience stores in Iowa, was approved for a permit for a $3.5 million miscellaneous improvement. Construction is underway while the existing store continues to operate.
Burger fans rejoice: The results are in for the Iowa’s Best Burger contest. The 2021 winning patty hails from Bambino’s, located in the small northeastern Iowa town of Ossian.
The results of the Iowa’s Best Burger contest, sponsored by the Iowa Beef Industry Council, were announced on location in Ossian on Monday. Anonymous judges visited 10 of Iowa’s top burger joints to rank the contestants by taste, doneness and presentation. The public picked the top 10 in an online vote.
Ron and Sue Lienau have owned and operated Bambino’s since 1982. Originally a bar, Bambino s added food service after the closure of the only other restaurant in Ossian, according to a news release from the Iowa Beef Industry Council.
