Senate Should Convict Donald Trump, Half Of Americans Say In New Poll
According to a poll from Quinnipiac University released Thursday, half of Americans think that the U.S. Senate should convict President Donald Trump.
The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives impeached Trump last month for inciting an insurrection against the U.S. government by allegedly ordering his supporters to storm the Capitol building and stop the certification of Electoral College votes in the 2020 presidential election.
The poll showed that the American public is sharply divided along partisan lines, with a strong majority of Democrats and a small plurality of independent voters saying that the upper chamber should convict the former president. The vast majority of Republican respondents said the opposite.
QUINNIPIAC POLL – According to a Quinnipac University National Poll, fifty percent of Americans say the Senate should convict former President Trump in his upcoming impeachment trial and a74% of people polled say social media sites should be held accountable for spreading disinformation.
With less than a week before the U.S. Senate is set to begin its impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump on charges he incited the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, half of Americans say the Senate should convict Trump and 45 percent say the Senate should not convict him, according to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University national poll of 1,075 adults released Thursday.
A new Quinnipiac Poll shows deep support among Americans for the proposed $1.9 trillion pandemic stimulus package proposed by President Biden, with nearly 70% saying the support the idea.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating is below 50% on national polls roughly two weeks into his presidency, according to a new national survey released Wednesday.
Nearly half of the poll s 1,075 adult respondents, or 49%, said they approve of the job Biden s is doing so far, while 36% said they disapprove of how he is doing in the Oval Office. Another 16% said they didn’t have an opinion or refused to answer, according to the Quinnipiac University poll conducted Jan. 28 to Feb. 1.
