The Professional Women s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) is holding Canada s first Dream Gap Tour event in over a year May 24-30 at a Calgary venue yet to be announced. Sixty players from the PWHPA s three Canadian hubs in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary will play to determine the Canadian Secret Cup champion. Secret, which announced a $1-million sponsorship of the PWHPA earlier this year, and the NHL s Calgary Flames are the financial partners in the event.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that due to COVID-19 safety measures, all remaining playoff games will be held in Quebec, beginning this weekend. The Maritime Division final between the Islanders and Acadie-Bathurst-Titan will be played in Shawinigan, Que., beginning this weekend. The team will leave for Quebec on Thursday, and remain in a two-team bubble with the Titan, who will be in a separate hotel, said coach and general manager Jim Hulton. No fans will be allowed in the rink.

May 02, 2021 - 7:18 PM MONCTON, N.B. - The Saint John Sea Dogs capped off their round-robin playoff tournament with a consolation 6-5 overtime victory over the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Sunday. Cam MacDonald netted the overtime winner 7:19 into the extra frame. Ryan Francis, Peter Reynolds and Kale McCallum each had two points for the Sea Dogs. Saint John outshot Moncton 46-36. Both teams were already eliminated from the QMJHL playoffs and were playing for pride. The Acadie-Bathurst Titan topped the nine-game 2021 President s Cup Series with a 4-2-0 record and will face the Charlottetown Islanders in the Maritimes Division final.
