+ May 04, 2021 THE sudden change in the protocols for the Covid-19 testing on the returning overseas Filipinos (ROF) and the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) is simply unrealistic and could again be misunderstood as another mode of fleecing this government of its almost dried up resources.
The ROFs and OFWS will undergo the RT-PCR test for Covid-19 only on the sixth day upon their arrival in the country under this new whole-of-nation protocol that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases issued. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) pays for the OFWs stay in the hotel.

AT A GLANCE. [1] The Sanggunian, in a special session Monday, May 3, voted to request the mayor, through Cebu City Administrator Floro Casas Jr., and City Attorney Rey Gealon to submit to the City Council their position on the letter of Gov. Gwen Garcia asking for the return of the title to province-owned lots covered by the 2018 land swap forged by the former governor and former city mayor.
[2] A number of councilors wanted the execution of the contract as, they alleged, it was already perfected, “a done deal,” the issue has dragged on for more than two decades, and if any LGU should go to court, it must be the province, not the city.

Actually, kay kung tinud-anay gyud tingali nga kung huna-huna nila, l am needed in the national scene modagan ko didto, salamat sa ilang faith and confidence in me. Pero, I want to say this, wala ko nagpa-cute. I have no intentions whatsoever of seeking national office. Read my lips (with emphasis). I am running for governor again because I feel I am more needed here in the Province of Cebu.”

Convenors of the “Gwen for Senator: Ang Probinsyana, Run Gwen Run” movement said they believed Garcia has shown the capabilities that will make her a good Senator.
“The present crop of Senators hailed from provinces with smaller electorates. How come, Cebu has not produced one today,” the group said in a statement.

+ April 27, 2021 I THOUGHT that it was a joke when I first heard the news that the Quezon City police and the National Task Force to End the Local Communist Insurgency (NTF-Elcac) red-tagged the community pantry that Ana Patricia Non started in Maginhawa Street, Quezon City. Non had to stop temporarily her community work to avoid the red-tagging. The police probably misread the community pantry sign as "communist party" (lol).
The matter was made worse when NTF-Elcac spokesman Army Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. called the senators stupid as he lamented the plan of some senators to defund the NTF-Elcac. The Senate approved the P19-billion budget for the task force this year and the P16 billion is budgeted for development projects for the 800 villages in the country that were freed of the influence by the communist rebels.

CEBU Bzzzzz: Cebu City may tap services of private firm Vital in vaccines rollout. Third brand the city eyes: Covaxin. Blitz on: 'Magpabakuna ta'
+ April 20, 2021 THE Cebu City Government is most likely to buy as its third vaccine of choice Covaxin, which the country's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Monday, April 19.
The City Council though has not yet decided to approve the purchase. During its special session on the same day, Councilor Alvin Dizon or anyone else in the consultation platform didn't know yet about the grant of EUA to Covaxin and Janssen vaccines. Dizon had asked for deferring its choice of Covaxin pending the completion of its questioned trials in India and the local FDA's action on its EUA.
