COVID-19 SOPs must strictly be followed

July 4, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The CEO of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital, Dr Shaukat Ali Bangash, has asked for strict enforcement of mask-wearing, regular washing of hands or using sanitizers and other SOPs in view of the impending forth wave of coronavirus pandemic, warning any negligence in the SOPs could be counterproductive. Dr Bangash, who is a highly qualified specialist of infectious disease and presently CEO of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH), highlighted that mask restrictions can help cut down the spread of the disease. The disease has already infected a number of people regardless of the age factor. In such cases, it becomes the responsibility of the health line workers to educate the nation and make preventions mandatory to retard the progresson of infection. He reminded that the QIH has played a major role to protect the people by holding training workshops and seminars on preventive measures in the QIH.

Dr Bangash, who is Chief Executive of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH), has maintained that administration of vaccine wouldn’t essentially provide hundred percent protection to the whole society at once but adherence to safety methods would help in protection against the virus spread in longer term. The SOPs advised by the WHO must be followed strictly and masses should become adaptable to the restrictions before the arrival of third wave of the virus in Pakistan, he reminded.
