MULTAN: A rally was organised to mark Yaum-ul-Quds on Friday and its participants condemned solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli forces. The participants were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against Israeli aggression. The rally started from Imambargah chowk Qadafi and the participants raised slogans Israel. Addressing the rally, Allama Qazi Nader Abbas Alvi said the efforts would be backed to establish an independent Palestinian state and the liberation of the first Qiblah. He accused the United Nations of playing a double role in the establishment of separate state for Palestinians. He said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had also declared Israel an illegal state.

Islamabad: To pay tributes to the creative poetic and original intellectual genius of Allama Iqbal, a webinar on ‘Poet of the East’ jointly organized by Pakistan National Movement and Writer Forum, Islamabad was held here on Wednesday.
Well-known literary researcher and educationist, Dr, Anwar Mahmood Khalid, poet, literary critic, educationist, and intellectual, Muhammad Afsar Sajid (Faisalabad) and Professor Niaz Irfan were guests of honour.
Dr. Khalid Iqbal Yasser, former D.G, Urdu Science Board, Dr. Zobia Sultana of Folk Heritage Ms. Nubla Pirzada, Deputy Director, National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad, Dr. M.A. Asghar, Zahid Shah, former senior officers, columnist Rukhsana Rukhshi, (London), Shazia Taslim, (Lahore), participated. MWM demands resolving Shia missing persons’ issue

Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) General Secretary Allama Raja Nasir Abbas on Wednesday termed the alleged enforced disappearances of members of the Shia community a serious violation of human rights, and asked the government and state institutions to resolve the issue.
He expressed these views during a telephonic address to the participants of the sit-in of the Shia community who have been protesting in front of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum since April 2 for the recovery of their missing family members.
The protest camp was organised by the Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons. Abbas said the participants of the sit-in are demanding the rule of law based on the supremacy of the constitution, so the government should listen to their demand.
