Elon Musk’s satellite internet venture Starlink has outlined its plans to offer voice service in a filing with the U.S. telecom regulator, and Canadian industry watchers say the company is likely to follow a similar path north of the border as it expands its rural broadband service.

Reliable high-speed internet access is on its way for Brant County and Six Nations of the Grand River.
Nearly 2,465 homes and businesses in Harrisburg, Harley, Fairfield Plain, Burtch, Newport, Onondaga, Middleport and parts of Six Nations of the Grand River will be connected by mid-2022 under a $9.4-million project announced Tuesday. The project is a partnership involving the federal and provincial governments, Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) and Xplornet Communications.
