F1 2021 will feature all of the teams, drivers and circuits from the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship, bringing with it a brand-new story mode, a two-player career mode and a trio of brand new circuits. The caveat is that these three tracks – Portimão, Imola, and Jeddah – will arrive as free post-launch content.
Unlike the last generational jump in 2013, Codemasters are right on the ball this time around with their first game after the console release making the leap, promising a visual uplift and faster loading times on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The game will be a fully cross-gen release with Xbox Smart Delivery giving buyers both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions of the game, and free upgrades from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5.
Career mode also gets a huge update: friends are able to join your career online and play co-operatively – or choose a rival team and race against you, each player having full control over their driving assists. Furthermore, Real-Season Start enables players to begin at any point in the season, with real-time drivers and constructors standings reflected in game.
Driver-manager mode My Team returns, as does two-player split-screen, shorter-season options for both F1 and F2 Esports – plus Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 get next-gen visuals and faster loading times.
