Alongside academic functions the school operates a Veterinary Teaching Hospital offering services to the public.
Massey University’s School of Veterinary Science has climbed into the global top 20 in the latest QS World University Rankings.
The new results see the school up an additional nine places, from 28
th in the 2020 results, to 19
th in 2021.
Head of School of Veterinary Science Professor Jon Huxley says a world top 20 ranking is fantastic news for students, staff, the school and the university.
“It is a remarkable performance for a veterinary school in a small, geographically remote nation like New Zealand.”
Professor Huxley says within these rankings the school is ranked particularly highly in employer reputation.

The University of Toronto ranked first in Canada in five broad fields in the latest annual subject ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds, the London-based analytics and insights firm.
The QS University Rankings by Subject 2021, released March 4, also placed U of T first in Canada in 30 out of the 48 specific subjects on which it was measured.
Moreover, U of T ranked in the top 50 globally in 46 subjects – more than any other university in the world – and ranked among the top 10 internationally in the following areas: education (third); library and information management (fourth); sports-related subjects (fifth); anatomy and physiology (sixth); pharmacy and pharmacology (10th); geography and area studies (10th); and anthropology (10th).

QS World Ranking by Subjects 2021 has been released today on March 4, 2021. A total of 12 Indian institutions have got positions in the ranking. IIT Bombay is in the Top 50 Engineering Institutes. While IIT Delhi and IIT Madras are among the Top 100 rankings.
This year s hospitality & leisure management ranking sees a new entrant in the top 10, as Hotelschool The Hague becomes the highest-ranked university from the Netherlands. It isn t the top university in Europe however, as Swiss institutions continue to dominate, with three of the top four schools for hospitality-based there.
