J&J vaccine registered for use in SA Updated

The SA Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) conditionally approved the vaccine for general use on Wednesday.
The vaccine will be administered as a single dose by intramuscular injection to individuals 18 years and older.
The decision was based on satisfactory, safety, quality, and efficacy data that was submitted to the regulator. The condition of this authorization have been indicated to Janssen and includes but not limited to them being applied under the National Department of Health Covid-19 vaccine roll-out programme under very strict reporting requirements to the regulator, reporting on the pharmacal vigilance and as well as providing periodic reports to the regulator.
