Tell us a little about yourself
I grew up on a farm outside of Pisgah. I am the eighth child of Ralph and Agnes Johnson. I attended Our Saviour Grade School and Routt Catholic High School. I earned a bachelor’s degree from Sangamon State University, then went to work at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department as a correctional officer before getting hired by the Jacksonville Police Department. I retired from Jacksonville after 25 years.
I am married to Mindi and am father to Kennadi, Kamdyn and Kai.

But there are reasons for hope, Durbin said, as evidenced by the way he has formed lasting friendships with key Republican Senate leaders such as Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham. I have a special friendship with Lindsey Graham that has endured through the years and people in Springfield cannot even understand why I say that, Durbin said. But he has helped me and I ve tried to help him if something s right. When I reintroduced the Dream Act I had one lead Republican cosponsor and it was Lindsey Graham. He told me he would do it and he did it.

Doris Turner In a unanimous vote on Saturday, Feb. 6, Doris Turner of Springfield was chosen by Democratic Party officials to represent state Senate District 48, which includes all or parts of Springfield, Decatur, Taylorville and Litchfield.
