Joshua Bonner, CEO of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, will step down at the end of April, the business group announced Thursday.
Bonner played a central role in the chamber s formation five years ago, uniting the Indio, Coachella and La Quinta Chambers of Commerce to create the area s only regional chamber.
Bonner s last day will be April 30. Bonner will make a jump to municipal work in his next role as general manager of the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District.
The chamber s vice president, Diana Soto, will assume the role of interim CEO until a replacement can be found.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. A local chamber executive has gotten some national recognition.
Guy Occhiogrosso is President and CEO of the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, and host of the KGMI Whatcom Report podcast and Sunday morning show.
The Association of Chamber Executives has named him one of 2020’s Top 40 under 40, a list including professionals from chambers of all sizes in the US and Canada.
Occhiogrosso was praised for his collaborative approach that helped rebuild the local chamber with a sustainable business model.
He has led the Bellingham Regional Chamber since March of 2014, after nearly 8 years of service at the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, during which time he earned his MBA from Western Washington University.
