Birnin Kebbi, Jan. 30, 2021 At least 150,000 farmers in the 21 Local Government Areas of Kebbi are to benefit from different Anchor Borrower Programme (ABP) facilities for dry and wet season farming, an official has said.
The state Chairman of Wheat Farmers Association and a member of the ABP committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Argungu, disclosed this to newsmen at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting on the programme in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
He said that civil servants, who are into agriculture, would be among the 150,000 prospective beneficiaries.
He said that Gov. Atiku Bagudu had ordered for the conduct of a census of genuine farmers in the state for the ABP facility.

At the inauguration which took place at the Presidential Villa January 26, 2021, President Buhari charged the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to coordinate and lead the deployment of a National Plan which will address the issue of out-of-school children in the country.
The President said that it was unacceptable to see children abandoning formal school to engage in menial jobs and child labour in the markets, streets and workshops.

The team is co-chaired by the Ministers of Humanitarian Affairs and Education.
Buhari stated that it was unacceptable to see children abandoning formal school to engage in menial jobs and child labour in the markets, streets and workshops.
The President cited United Nations agencies’ report of out of school children estimated at 13 million.
He said the National Plan would ensure holistic and comprehensive inclusiveness of appropriate basic education for vulnerable children.
He directed that emphasis be given to first provide a limited scope of subjects in Mathematics, English language, Basic Science and Social studies.

Born on the 12th of May 1963, Watila was appointed to the Federal High Court Bench on December 2, 2015.
Tsoho described the deceased as a courageous judge, whose exit will be felt by the court and the country.
He prayed that God would grant his immediate family, relatives and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.
Wake-keep service will hold on at his Watila’s residence in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Valedictory Court Session is slated for Thursday at the Ukeje Hall, Federal High Court Headquarters, Abuja.
