AFP warns of P11D headache from plug-in hybrid range figures

Date: 01 March 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood Fleets are facing issues with obtaining the zero-emissions range (ZER) figures they need for plug-in hybrids, according to the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP). It says that PHEVs registered on or after 6 April last year which emit 50g/km or less of CO2 need to have the ZEER entered on the P11D, but that this does not appear to be available anywhere other than on the Certificate of Conformity (COC) that was issued with the car when it was delivered. AFP director James Pestell said that while filling in the P11D for other fuel types was often challenging, but possible with a little digging, PHEVs were more difficult.

New electric vehicle mythbuster help from AFP | Electric fleet news

1 person found this useful A new electric vehicle (EV) ‘mythbusters’ document designed to tackle company car driver misconceptions has been published by the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP). Created by the organisation’s EV Committee, it tackles questions such as paying for a charge point, grid capacity, clean air zone charges and EV safety. Paul Hollick, AFP chair, said: “EVs are being introduced apace in many organisations and fleet managers are finding that potential drivers have a lot of questions about them, some of which they can easily answer and some of which require a little more thought. “The new guide is designed for drivers and fleet managers who find themselves in this position. We’ve gathered information from across the AFP about the most common questions that are being asked and our EV committee has produced concise but informative responses that should satisfy most drivers.

Fleets call for more action on EV infrastructure

Date: 22 February 2021   |   Author: Sam Phillips The government will help fund more EV charging points for homes and SMEs, but fleets want more action elsewhere in the network. Fleets believe new money announced in February 2021 to improve the UK charging infrastructure for electric vehicles will not go far enough. The government committed to helping more people install charging points in their homes and at small businesses, but the organisation representing fleet professionals believes the rest of the public charging network is in urgent need of upgrading and investment.  Transport secretary Grant Shapps announced a £50m investment package to improve infrastructure on 13 February 2021. The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) will continue next year and will target people living in rented and leasehold accommodation.
