John Lewisâs Final Fight For Voting Rights
Democrats big reform bill contains 300 pages expanding voting rights that were written by the late civil rights leader.

As Congress debates the passage of a sweeping reform bill targeting voting rights, campaign finance, redistricting and ethics, Democrats in the House and Senate have the name of a colleague who is no longer with them on their lips.
Rep. John Lewis, who died last year, dedicated his life to expanding and protecting the right to vote. He was attacked for it. And he was elected, in part, to help preserve it. He ultimately helped write part of the bill that Democrats are now pushing to enact.

Who can forget the clueless thugs protesting last May in the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, holding up their brand new shiny placards––mmmm, where did those pricey things come from?––and expressing rage at….what?
Not at the lack of esteem they believed white America owed to the black-lives-matter movement.
Not at the shooting a year earlier of Michael Brown (for which police officer Darren Wilson was exonerated by a Grand Jury) or the phony “hands-up/don’t shoot” mantra.

Never mind that Trump is the least authoritarian American president in probably a century and the most transparent American president ever – writer Molly Ball claims in an article titled “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election” that a huge effort was undertaken “fortifying,” but not “rigging” the election. The American system of government hardly needed to be protected from Trump, who, throughout his four years in office gave away his presidential pay and barely had control over the federal Leviathan, filled as it is with disloyal left-wingers and careerist Democrats. The same cannot be said of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who view the government as a massive gravy train and a means of imposing one-party rule on the country and cleansing it of undesirables like conservatives and other patriots. HALIFAX A group of Halifax volunteers have become the latest Canadians to begin erecting tiny shelters for the homeless, with two wooden structures going up recently in a gentrifying section of the city s waterfront. Halifax Mutual Aid built the pair of insulated structures amid a cluster of trees on city land in Dartmouth over the past two weekends. One of the tiny shelter occupants, Paul, who declined to provide his last name, said in an interview Monday that without the structure he d be suffering through cold weather in a nearby tent. He says low welfare rates and the lack of available housing meant he couldn t find safe shelter for over three years before the small building went up.
