Raneri appointed to second term on statewide trustee board

TROY, N.Y. — George J. Raneri, who has served as secretary to Hudson Valley Community College s Board of Trustees for the past 21 years and previously served as a trustee from 1981 through 1998, has been named secretary for the New York Community College Trustees (NYCCT) for a second term. NYCCT is a non-profit consortium of community college trustees who work to strengthen the effectiveness of the state s community college governing boards in the development and implementation of public policy. Raneri, an emeritus trustee to Hudson Valley s board, has served as the college s appointed delegate to NYCCT for 37 years and was named secretary in 2017. As secretary, he is a member of the organization’s executive committee.

Wilson Appointed To Cowley College Board Chair Posted By: Brady Bauman January 22, 2021 The Cowley College Board of Trustees appointed Gary Wilson to assume the duties of Chair of the Board during Tuesday night’s meeting held in the Earle N. Wright Community Room following a tie vote and a resultant coin-flip, according to a news release from the college. Wilson was elected to serve a four-year term on the board, starting in January 2018. His current term expires in January 2022. Wilson graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1968, then continued his education at Cowley County Community College, graduating in 1970. In 1970, Gary represented Cowley County Community College and Area Vocational Technical School at the Kansas Legislature. After Cowley, Gary worked as a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic and became a certified GM technician.

Dunne will serve throughout 2021. COD Board of Trustees Chairman Frank Napolitano applauded Dunne for her new appointment.   Trustee Dunne will be a fine representative for the ACCT to help advocate for community colleges nationally, he said. Through her dedicated leadership and devotion to the community college system, Dunne is working to improve the lives of the people in our communities for years to come.
