Sending two children to average Sydney private schools for their primary and secondary education costs families almost $1 million â about a third more than in any other Australian city.
The Futurity Investment Groupâs Planning for Education Index showed the cost of public schooling in Sydney also outstripped the rest of the country, but the cityâs Catholic schools were among the nationâs cheapest.
The Association of Independent Schools NSW disputed the estimate of $448,035 for 13 years of independent schooling per student in Sydney, saying there were many low-fee schools and the median cost would be closer to $100,000.
